Meet Me

Combine the fact that I hate getting my picture taken and that I am always the photographer, I have about 5 photos of me in my catalog of thousands of family photos.  When I do have my photo taken, I'm usually hiding behind a child:)

I've recently unearthed a love for screenwriting.  Me, an engineer, who would have known the desire to write stories would be buried below the surface?  The interesting thing is that the screenwriting does seem to jive with my engineering brain.  For me, it's like figuring out how to piece together the puzzle of a story in the most efficient and visual manner:)  Or maybe it's just the beginnings of a mid-life crisis...

So anyway, I thought a blog would be a great way to practice my writing.  Plus I've always wanted to write down my kiddo stories for future memories.  I'd love constructive feedback.  I know I have a lot to learn.  Don't be mean though.  Please don't crush my dreams just yet.

Since I've become obsessed with screenwriting, I've also become obsessed with learning about screenwriting.  It's the inner research nerd in me surfacing, I can't help it.  I think it's also a way for me to pretend I'm going to film school since that dream is far from my reality.  "Oh yeah Greg, can I have XX grand to spend on film school?  Oh and by the way, you'll need to take care of the kids for two years while I'm doing that...  age 6 through 11 are not that developmentally important in a kid's life.  I'm sure the kids will be just fine without me."

So anyway, the internet is awesome!  I know, I know it's not new, but I'm still amazed at how many resources you can find on any obscure topic on the internet.  So I've also included a page for links to some of my favorite screenwriting resources.  The list will grow with time.

I've got to pick up the kiddos before they are left on the curb, so I'll have to finish this later...
